Fine Arts
Fine Arts
In the beginning, God created. For this reason we view art of all kinds: dance, poetry, painting, music, drama, photography, drawing, song - as a faithful response, and an act of worship.
Through the study of the history of art, and the understanding of how a painting is structured or a song composed students engage in learning that is connected to real issues of meaning and significance. They gain appreciation for the great works of art that have been created throughout history, and are still being developed today.
When the fine arts are used properly, they expose areas of injustice, identify the pain of the human condition, remind us of the hope that is found in Christ, and point us to the promises of the Kingdom of God.
At Gateway Christian school, students have the opportunity to enjoy art and music classes from kindergarten to sixth grade. Option classes in grades seven and eight allow students to explore art, drama, music, band, photography and creative writing.
