Once a week, Gateway’s community comes together for worship. Students, staff, parents and the wider community are invited to sing songs of praise, and to watch, listen and live out God’s story. The purpose of worship time is to celebrate together and to glorify God with our learning, worship and time.
Guest speakers and musicians are often invited to connect us using their stories of God’s goodness, grace and love. Members from the wider community often join us during worship time as well, to bring special greetings, announcements or presentations that allow Gateway students to learn more about, and connect with citizens and special interest groups in Red Deer and Central Alberta.
Worship time is often student led. Classes participate by singing songs, sharing dances, dramas, slide shows or speeches. Opportunities to lead and present are important areas of growth for students at Gateway! Students’ work is celebrated as student learning is an act of worship too. Occasionally, worship time is divided into more age specific groups as guest speakers bring a message just for high school or elementary students. Occasionally, we use worship time to connect with our grade big and little buddies, or focus on specific devotional activities in the classroom.
All are invited!
