Weekly Reminders

Good Morning Everyone,
Hope you've had a great start to your Monday ☼  !

New refugees to Red Deer need our help -  A few refugee families have just moved to Red Deer with barely any supplies – clothing, bedding or furniture.  They have 6 – 8 children per family and are in desperate need of infant to adult size clothing and home bedding.  With the snow & cold weather around the corner, they will need winter outerwear & footwear.  They need our help!  If you have any items you’d like to donate to these new families to Red Deer, please drop off your donations at CanWest Travel’s basement or call Marlene at  403 346 8784 and she will arrange a pick-up time.  CanWest Travel will distribute the donations and thank you very much for considering this request.  Blessings & Thanks ♥ !  CanWest Travel:  5018 Ross Street, Red Deer

►Kindergarten to Gr. 8 students have a short week (No school: Thursday or Friday).
►High school students have classes Monday - Friday.

A BIG thank you to our Gr. 5 patrollers who are out every school day keeping our school zones safe for our families.  Please watch out for them - they're equipped with their fluorescent vests and stop sign paddles.  Just a friendly reminder that if you have a son/daughter who takes the bus and on after school patrol to please make alternate arrangements for pick up - our busses leave before their shift is over.  Thank you!

► What amazing students we have!  Our middle school leadership bake sale raised $325.00 on Oct. 2nd & 3rd.  Thank you to the students, staff & parents who supported the sale.  All proceeds going toward the new playground.

One Book Many Schools.... Each kindergarten to Gr. 8 family at Gateway received a copy of Sigmund Brouwer's bookRebel Glory.  This year, more 5000 parents and children within Red Deer Public Schools are reading the same book at the same time!  We hope you and your children are enjoying the book and enjoy your times reading together.  Literacy is the foundation for all learning and we want to partner with you to promote literacy at school and at home.  We hope you continue the tradition of reading together and will pick up more books to read as a family.
